Best value for comfort. Comfortable bed, spacious room, hot shower and excellent wifi. Ample parking and relatively quiet — easy checking in.
An unexpected stay that ended up being the highlight of our road trip. The motel looks incredible with purple flowers in full bloom arching over the entry to every room. The rooms have everything you need and it was really, really clean.
Close to the village centre and coffee shops. Was really handy having a restaurant on site — my steak at dinner was lovely.
Another wonderful stay at this fantastic motel! The rooms are fresh and clean and the restaurant onsite is absolutely delicious. One of our favourite places to stay while travelling up and down the highway!

Forty years of country hospitality, freshly begun again.
Tom Duffy and Marilyn Duffy — still known across the district for their famous Duffy Pies — opened Motel Royal Tara in 1986 and cared for it for forty years. In 2025 they passed the keys to new owners, who have upgraded all twenty units and reopened the restaurant with an exciting new menu.
The welcome stays exactly the same: friendly, easy, and unmistakably country.
