Our Story
About Royal Tara
Forty years of country hospitality in a historic village between the Hilltops and Yass Valley.

Under New Custodianship
Built on hospitality, carried forward with care.
Tom Duffy and Marilyn Duffy — still known across the district for their famous Duffy Pies — opened Motel Royal Tara in 1986 and looked after it for forty years, building a reputation for friendly service and a genuine country welcome. In 2025 they handed the keys to new owners as they stepped into retirement.
Since then, all twenty units have been upgraded and the restaurant has reopened with an exciting new menu — but the warm, easy welcome remains exactly as it always was.
— With thanks to Tom Duffy & Marilyn Duffy
